Jellycat’s continuing success meant that its global network of stockists has grown considerably over the years.
But up until 2011, Jellycat hadn’t extensively reviewed or updated its technology systems. It was at this point that the company started to grow significantly, with plans to introduce ecommerce along with additional staff to handle the increased demand. This meant that Jellycat’s internal processes had become constrained and were hindering its ability to deliver on its business objectives.
Furthermore, Jellycat’s IT systems, applications and product range were steadily increasing in size in order to cope with the increasing number of users; impeding the businesses technology infrastructure. Jellycat urgently required a review of its entire IT infrastructure in order to determine the shortfalls and find an effective solution that would achieve its business objectives.
With a proven track record in the FMCG and retail sector, OryxAlign was the natural choice and successfully won the tender to become Jellycat’s chosen IT partner.
Immediately after the technical on-boarding and support implementation had been completed, the engineering team at OryxAlign started work on designing and introducing a new IT infrastructure, in order to facilitate the planned and projected growth of the company. This required careful planning and consideration to ensure the delivery of a seamless and non-disruptive infrastructure upgrade.
The brand-new infrastructure enabled Jellycat to grow its operation with confidence. While the migration of its telephony infrastructure away from traditional and expensive ISDN through the implementation of SIP trunks, directly reduced Jellycat’s monthly spend on telephony.
As the business continued to grow, in 2014 a new SAN & virtualised infrastructure was introduced. Having managed and supported the IT infrastructure since 2010, OryxAlign had already gained an in-depth understanding and once again the new infrastructure was completed without any disruption to the smooth running of the business.
