Due to the criticality and infrastructure availability required to operate successfully Linear needed an experienced technology partner who have an extensive understanding of the financial services industry. Strategic IT solutions were needed to ensure the technology investment would not only deliver the required return, but would also provide the resilience and robustness which the business required in order to be profitable.
Linear’s infrastructure and technology platform was designed and built on the OryxCloud platform to meet the exact requirements of the business. The hosted infrastructure (IaaS) comprises of an array of dedicated, virtual servers running on a highly available enterprise platform, with all corporate data residing on multiple high performance SAN’s. Our focus on redundancy and availability goes from the VDI desktops through to the front and back-end infrastructure and redundancy is addressed in the both hardware and software applications which provide access to core business services & trading platforms at Linear. Along with the infrastructure redundancy, we have installed a 100% SLA backed connectivity service which consists of a 100Mb/s primary fibre leased line service and a 50Mb/s uncontended wireless backup service. Both connectivity services are brokered via Cisco ASA technology which is configured to provide an automatic failover should the primary connectivity fail.
Along with the hosted data infrastructure OryxAlign have designed and installed the business critical voice platform which delivers enterprise telephony features including call recording, hunt group routing and reporting.
The entire technology platform at Linear is supported and maintained by OryxAlign under a responsive managed support framework agreement which includes a 24×7 IT Service Desk, on-site engineering presence, proactive account management and monthly infrastructure reporting.
Due to the nature of the infrastructure and it being hosted in the OryxAlign datacentres, OryxAlign are able to provision VDI’s within minutes and have entire offices operational in a matter of hours. Linear are in the process of deploying remote offices globally so as long as there is the provision of reliable internet connectivity, the core infrastructure is instantly available.
