The background
Landsec was searching for a technology partner with the experience to deal with extensive and critical Cisco network infrastructure and was also at the forefront of delivering advanced, predictive, and automated managed technology services. There was an urgent requirement to deliver a full life-cycle analysis and refresh the infrastructure installed across the portfolio sites.
The challenge
OryxAlign conducted an infrastructure audit & risk assessment using our Solarwinds infrastructure management platform across 14 of the portfolio sites. The purpose was to gather in-depth information and analysis of the usage of the network infrastructure at each location. A vital part of the project was to understand the volume of data throughput across the core switching and network infrastructure.
The project resulted in the replacement and refresh of 353 network devices. This new infrastructure enhanced the resilience and performance of critical building applications, CCTV, access control and security. Importantly, it also addressed the requirement for improving the level of cyber-security across the network infrastructure.
The outcome
The new infrastructure delivered an immediate and substantive step change in operational performance, cyber protection and resilience. Furthermore, it represented a cost saving to Landsec of £250,000 due to an improved infrastructure design leveraging the latest Cisco technologies.
