When OryxAlign successfully tendered and won the contract to provide the technology support for DSQ in 2007, there was an aged and unreliable infrastructure that was totally unfit for purpose.
Its physical servers were running out of space and constantly failing which was the cause of serious concern for the DSQ management. To add to the challenges, there was a management drive to update the corporate image of DSQ, and as technology was a key part of this, changes had to be made.
Firstly, OryxAlign delivered a refresh of the server and desktop infrastructure, which brought much-needed stability to the technology platform. The new infrastructure was supported by OryxAlign’s proactive and managed technology support agreement, that provides users with the feel of an onsite IT department.
In 2009, OryxAlign was called upon to provide consultancy services in order to plan a complete CCTV infrastructure refresh and expansion. OryxAlign employed its project management and senior technical team to implement 10 new CCTV cameras together with a new data storage platform that would retain CCTV data for longer; all delivered on time and on-budget.
The following year OryxAlign was commissioned to plan, design and implement an external public wireless infrastructure on the DSQ estate. The project involved the installation of high-powered intelligent wireless access points in high-level strategic locations across the DSQ estate. The physical installation of the AP infrastructure was completed out of hours and on weekends and involved the use of high-level access machinery. Once again OryxAlign’s professional and highly efficient project management and senior technical team delivered the project on time and on-budget.
In 2012 OryxAlign implemented a new virtualised infrastructure to replace the physical server infrastructure together with a new Gigabit CISCO network infrastructure throughout the estate. Along with this, a new SIP voice solution with high availability and failover was implemented.
In 2013, OryxAlign continued to work closely with DSQ and installed an AV infrastructure in all 7 of the residential apartments, enabling tenants to subscribe to an array of digital HD services.
Then in 2015, OryxAlign implemented a 10GB fibre core network spanning the entire DSQ estate together with a high-performance wireless technology refresh.
