In just the few years since the building was completed, advances in technology have resulted in some profound and far-reaching changes across a wide range of IT services and functionality.
By 2017, the landlord realised that the management of the existing IT infrastructure needed to be improved. As a result, 20 Fenchurch Street was looking to engage a new partner who would bring the critical network infrastructure and associated services up to the standard worthy of this iconic building.
OryxAlign was quick to demonstrate that it not only talks the talk but also walks the walk; by submitting a comprehensive tender backed up by a proven track record in the commercial property sector that resulted in it being immediately awarded the contract.
To start with, OryxAlign set about providing an effective working plan for the comprehensive management, support and monitoring of the critical network infrastructure throughout the entire building. The programme also covered a host of additional services including the management of the satellite TV, DAS and audio-visual infrastructure, in order to provide occupants with the most up-to-date facilities.
Furthermore, the service delivery team at OryxAlign proved that the sky was no limit by also taking on the management, monitoring and maintenance of the Sky Garden’s responsive and highly efficient public wireless infrastructure, together with the hosting and management of the Sky Garden website.
Crucially, with growing concerns about cyber-security OryxAlign set about improving the security and monitoring of the internet connectivity coming into the building and network infrastructure as a whole. This was combined with on-going cyber-security services and consulting, expert advice on GDPR, and the management of all 3rd party technology service providers.
