The challenge

The Wi-Fi infrastructure at 52 Lime Street was no longer fit for purpose. The building relied on legacy Cisco access points that were outdated and unable to support the demands of a modern, high-density working environment.

Users frequently experienced connectivity issues and buffering, particularly when moving between areas.

To ensure reliable, high-performance connectivity and to future-proof the building’s wireless capabilities, a full modernisation of the Wi-Fi network was essential.

The solution

To modernise the wireless infrastructure at 52 Lime Street, OryxAlign deployed over 100 cloud-managed Meraki access points, significantly enhancing speed and coverage across the building. A wireless survey was carried out to map existing signal strength and inform the optimal placement of each device.

Installation was managed by a trusted contractor, who removed the legacy access points and installed the new hardware, making adjustments where necessary to accommodate new mounting plates. An on-site OryxAlign engineer ensured all devices were tested and fully operational throughout the deployment.

Due to the difference in size and shape between the old and new units, minor cosmetic works were required. These included filling and painting around mounting areas to maintain a clean, professional finish, an additional variation added to the project to preserve the building’s appearance.
