The Challenge

When Brockton Capital LLP purchased The Urban Building as part of a wider redevelopment project, they were determined not only to ensure the redevelopment was of an exceptional standard, but that the buildings were lit up with the best technology on the market in order to provide their tenants with a great experience.
The implementation of a high-performance guest & retail wireless infrastructure along with uncontended fibre internet connectivity was required, as well as technology partner who could deliver it.

The Solution

OryxAlign were contracted in to provide the initial consultations with the property developers and architects. After several site meetings and infrastructure surveys, OryxAlign submitted their proposal in which they described how the landlords technology objectives would be met. The landlord were intrigued by OryxAlign’s proposal, and the project began a short time later.

The project entailed the technology infrastructure design & implementation of the following core deliverables:

– The creation and implementation of an internal fibre local area network which runs throughout the buildings
and serve as a fibre backbone. This will facilitate the infrastructure needed to provide internet
connectivity to all tenanted areas.

– The implementation of a high-performance guest wireless internet access infrastructure throughout the buildings and outdoor retail areas. A total of 25 high-performance Aerohive access points were installed and configured in each of the buildings, along with switching capacity to match.

– The implementation of fibre internet connectivity infrastructure in order to provide tenants with an efficient direct internet access service when they take up space in the building.

– The implementation of all landlord technology infrastructure (reception technology, IP phones and audio visual infrastructure.

OryxAlign continue to partner with Brockton Capital and are currently delivering the same technology template in 3 other commercial estates in London and the home counties.
