Growing through opportunity: Megan’s journey at OryxAlign

Written by OryxAlign | Jan 26, 2026

At OryxAlign, we believe growth comes from opportunity, curiosity and a supportive environment. For Megan Stiles, that belief has been at the heart of her journey from Executive Assistant to Business Operations Manager. Along the way, she’s discovered new passions that have contributed to initiatives making a real difference for both OryxAlign and our world.

In this spotlight, Megan shares her experiences, what she enjoys most about working at OryxAlign and how the company has supported her growth every step of the way.

What type of roles did you do before OryxAlign?

Before joining OryxAlign, I worked mostly as a personal or executive assistant. My last role before that was in a school supporting the Headteacher. It was very different from tech, but I really enjoyed it. Working through COVID was a particularly unusual and challenging time and it taught me a lot about being adaptable to different situations, problem-solving and managing unexpected circumstances.

What's your role at OryxAlign, and how would you describe what you do in one sentence?

I’m now the Business Operations Manager. In one sentence, I make sure the business runs smoothly and efficiently behind the scenes.

What do you enjoy the most about working here?

I’d say probably the challenge. There is always something new to learn which is really exciting. I love the sense of achievement you get when you’ve completed something. The business is so ambitious and being part of that keeps me motivated.

What kind of progress or growth have you experienced during your time here - professionally or personally?

The biggest growth for me has been moving from an EA role into operations, as I probably would have stayed on the PA or EA path if I hadn’t joined OryxAlign.

I’ve also always been interested in sustainability, and it wasn’t something I’d professionally done before, but I could see it was something the business really needed. I was given the tools and the time to incorporate that into my role, and I’ve learned so much through it. OryxAlign has really taken the time to listen to what I’m interested in, see where my strengths lie and give me the opportunity to grow in that direction.

How would you describe the company culture to someone considering joining?

It’s supportive and open. People genuinely want you to succeed and are willing to take a chance on you. That culture of trust and encouragement makes it a great place to grow and try new things.

At OryxAlign, we’re proud to support women in tech and celebrate the vital contributions they make to the industry. Megan shares her perspective on what drew her to tech and the moments that have made her feel proud along the way.

What sparked your interest in working in the tech industry initially?

I think for me it was always something I was interested in learning more about. I liked, and I still do like, that it’s fast-paced and constantly moving and evolving, especially with things like AI coming in. It’s never going to get dull as there’s always something new to learn.

I was also drawn to how integral tech is to every business. From data centres to commercial properties, I’ve been able to learn about so many industries through our clients. Tech really is key to every single business, and that makes the work constantly interesting.

Can you share a moment where you felt especially empowered or proud of your work?

For me it was achieving the B Corp certification. It had been something we’d been working on for so long and so after over a year of effort, it was amazing to achieve. It’s a career highlight for me and I’m really pleased we did it. It’s amazing for the business and knowing we achieved it together makes it even more special.

What, in your opinion, is the importance of women joining the tech industry?

I think it comes down to diversity and that you need a varied workforce to be successful. Everyone brings different experiences and ideas to the table, and that adds so much value. Tech is also an exciting fast-paced industry, so if that’s what people are passionate about, they should absolutely go for it.

Megan’s journey shows how curiosity and opportunity can shape a career, and at OryxAlign, we encourage the growth and ambition to make a real impact. Whether it’s taking on new challenges or driving big initiatives, our people are supported to follow their passions.
