Growing a career in Service Delivery at OryxAlign: Craig’s Story

Written by OryxAlign | Mar 27, 2026

At OryxAlign, no two career journeys look the same, and Craig’s story is a great example of how curiosity, opportunity and the right support can shape a career. After building strong foundations across a range of technical roles, he joined OryxAlign at the start of a new chapter in the UK and has since grown into a leadership role, supporting his team and shaping long-term client relationships.

Craig shares what brought him to OryxAlign, what he’s learned along the way and what it really feels like to be part of the community here.

What type of roles did you do before OryxAlign?

Prior to OryxAlign, I worked in all the typical technical support roles, from first line and second line Service Desk to Onsite Engineer and System Administration. I’ve also worked for both in-house IT and MSPs, as well as having a brief tenure as a Technical Account Manager before taking my first Service Delivery Manager role with OryxAlign.

What's your role at OryxAlign, and how would you describe what you do in one sentence?

I’m the Service Delivery Team Lead for OryxAlign. My team of Service Delivery managers co-own the relationships between OryxAlign’s clients and their account managers, and I’m also ultimately responsible for the Onsite Engineering Team both in terms of resourcing and the scheduling.

How long have you been with the company, and what initially attracted you to join?

I've been with OryxAlign for just over 8 years, and I was originally attracted to the technology focus of the role. OryxAlign is my first, and to date, only UK job as I immigrated to the UK over 8 years ago.

What's one thing that surprised you, in a good way, once you started working here?

I was surprised as to how focused on the staff experience OryxAlign is. It’s really common for a business to talk about how their staff are their greatest asset but then treat that staff poorly. That is not Oryx. OryxAlign walks that talk and I genuinely respect that.

What kind of progress or growth have you experienced during your time here, professionally or personally?

I have experienced huge growth here. Prior to OryxAlign, I hadn’t been a manager of people, and now I look after a team of 19. OryxAlign saw something in me that I didn’t and took a chance on me. They also invested in me further and sponsored my Team Leader Level 3 Apprenticeship, extending my personal professional development.

What do you enjoy the most about working here?

It’s going to sound a bit cliché but it’s the people. Within a week of being on the job, I felt like I had found “my people” and a new UK working family. OryxAlign has great people diversity with people from all walks of life and backgrounds. It’s a real melting pot of people and cultures and best of all, I get to inflict my mastery of pop culture trivia knowledge on them all!

How would you describe the company culture to someone considering joining?

OryxAlign is like family, and there is a genuine feeling of belonging among the staff. Everyone wants to get the job done, and everyone values good work. Good work is recognised publicly and celebrated loudly. Everyone is a team player. When you need a hand, people will clear their schedules to help. When the time comes for levity and mirth, everyone willing and able kicks of their shoes and lets down their hair, and the laughter is quick and easy.

Craig's journey highlights the impact a supportive culture can have on long-term professional growth. At OryxAlign, we focus on creating an environment where people are trusted and encouraged to develop in ways that feel authentic to them.
