The Solutions Architect role is a key role in supporting OryxAlign’s ambitions plans for growth.
Working as part of a team of three and reporting to the Head of Solutions, the primary function of the role is supporting the Sales and Account Management team in scoping, designing, specifying and proposing new IT infrastructure and transformation strategies and solutions for OryxAlign’s clients and prospects.
The IT solutions proposed are often complex and require a deep technical understanding across multiple technologies such as cloud, security, networking and infrastructure, which need to fulfil the client’s technical requirements and be commercially aligned.
In addition to the above the role will require the continual up-keep of current industry knowledge whilst keeping abreast of emerging trends and best practices.
The nature and pace of OryxAlign’s business requires a high level of flexibility, common sense and attention to detail, often under time constraints to meet deadlines. While the specific content of the role is clearly defined below, this may evolve over time and needs a proactive, hands on and can do approach to duties and responsibilities.
The key duties and responsibilities will include:
Solid and proven track record of designing technical infrastructure solutions within the cloud, infrastructure, networking and security arena to a range of client verticals across multiple technology platforms.
Attention to detail
You must demonstrate your ability to provide accurate information, ensuring it is in a usable format and delivered in a timely fashion to whoever requires it. The work you deliver should be of a high standard with no need for checking. You should put methods in place to ensure you do not overlook things e.g. checklist and calendar. Ensure that at all times you follow policies and procedures e.g. Health & Safety.
To continuously build on your knowledge and understanding of the OryxAlign business model and its market. Research and share the trends that are changing within the industry. Show the ability to make sound decisions based on industry and economic knowledge, allowing the achievement of key goals and helping the business grow.
To demonstrate control over the amount of time spent on a task ensuring you are productive. The ability to prioritise and organise your workload effectively, in order to achieve goals and meet deadlines. Exhibit a strong work ethic ensuing you are not late or do not waste company time.
You need to demonstrate exceptional communication skills, instilling confidence in others with regard to your knowledge, competency and ability to deliver. Learning how and when to adjust your language and delivery dependant on the needs of your audience is a key to your success. Identify timings and channels of communication to ensure that you are listened to and understood. Assertive but fair communication with colleagues is essential as is learning the ability to be diplomatic for the good of OryxAlign as a whole. You need to be watching those around you and learning from them. We don’t expect you to know everything – but we do expect you to ask if you are in any doubt.

Proactively look for ways to improve products, services and work processes. You must show the ability to identify issues and required actions to rectify them. Demonstrate understanding of the cause of the problem and determine appropriate information. Show a clear and logical method to solving problems.

You should be dedicated to your work and show motivation. You must be proactive, productive and meet your goals. If you are unmotivated, have low moral or any personal problems which are affecting your work, you should inform your manager, who will be able to support and advise you.
