overall purpose of the role
The project manager is responsible for managing large and complex projects with experience and technical skills to effectively plan, manage and deliver large-scale projects on behalf of the business.
The project manager will require third-party vendor management and liaise between engineers and the business. They will participate in defining solutions to solve complex, multidisciplinary business problems with long-term implications.
context
The role is part of a team of project managers based in London, with occasional client site visits. The nature of the role and the business requires excellent project management skills, and the ability to communicate and coordinate across different groups with a high level of flexibility, common sense and initiative.
key responsibilities
a) Responsible for the day-to-day relationship with customers from point of sale to transition to the Support team.
b) Manage internal and external tasks and activities within each project.
c) Plan, monitor and control the progress of projects and ensure high and consistent quality throughout the project lifecycle. This involves planning customer-specific tasks and understanding the scope and technical delivery approach.
d) Consult and advise clients on change management strategy and approach.
e) Creating and managing test phases and associated sign-offs.
f) Work closely with the internal Account Manager, Technical Solutions Engineers and Project Lead to ensure the project is delivered per the signed quote.
g) Responsible for resource management within each project.
h) Manage multiple concurrent projects while coordinating virtual teams of colleagues with diverse specialist expertise and roles.
i) Work with the Professional Services leadership team to ensure a consistent high-quality project governance, and be internally and externally responsible for all communications regarding aspects of the project (status, risks, financials, issues, scope, schedule etc.)
knowledge, skills and experience
a) Proven experience in the delivery of technical projects, preferably within construction.
b) Proven and demonstrable track record in IT Project Management or experience executing technical IT projects.
c) Prior experience working on client-facing projects, managing diverse groups, budgets, timelines, scope and delivery.
d) Experience in the field of change management would be desirable.
education and qualifications
a) Prince2 practitioner or similar certification.
b) Knowledge of MS Project
c) Knowledge of ConnectWise (desirable)
