How we helped

The Challenge

An aged and inefficient infrastructure was causing frustration and operational issues at The Mailbox. There were critical business functions such as telephony that were being facilitated by end-of-life and poorly-managed Cisco infrastructure that was a sizeable risk to the 24×7 operation. Along with this, there was a notable lack in proactive and responsive managed services that added further frustration for the user community.

The Solution

OryxAlign were awarded the managed services & support contract for The Mailbox following a competitive tender bid in 2012. We completed a series of technical site and on-boarding audits in order to take over the infrastructure support responsibilities first and foremost, which were closely followed by the production of a technology roadmap and infrastructure refresh programme.

The infrastructure refresh programme primarily focused on improving infrastructure reliability & efficiency and ensuring that risks from all critical business functions were mitigated. New server & desktop infrastructure was implemented along with a new voice platform which enabled the business to increase efficiencies across the various departments and the organisation as a whole. An additional and notable gain was peace of mind amongst the senior management team, knowing that the new infrastructure provided a highly-available and proactively-monitored environment.

Along with the infrastructure, OryxAlign provided a 24×7 remote monitoring and management platform and a comprehensive managed services support partnership which included a dedicated on-site engineer.
