AN INSIGHT INTO OUR WIRELESS SURVEYS & INSTALLATIONS

A detailed radio frequency (RF) survey is vital before installing wireless network access points. With wireless systems, it’s difficult to predict the propagation of radio waves and to detect the presence of interfering signals. Walls, doors, lift shafts, people and other obstacles offer varying degrees of attenuation and these can make the RF radiation pattern irregular and unpredictable.

Our wireless surveys enable you to understand the potential behaviour of radio waves within a facility and our surveys are completely vendor-independent. The aim of our surveys is to collate sufficient information in order to determine the optimum number and placement of wireless access points. The survey can also detect interference from other sources that could degrade the performance of the wireless LAN or WLAN.

A small area (such as a 3,000sqft office) might not need a site survey, but a larger facility such as an office complex, multi-tenanted apartment/building, shopping mall or warehouse, will definitely require an extensive survey. Without this, there is likely to be inadequate coverage and poor performance.
